The advancement of technology has come with new inventions and most of these inventions are tailored to make the world a better place. One area that has been affected by the rapid technological growth is transport as many new ways have been designed to ease the way that we move around. A hoverboard is one such invention and rather than just affecting the transport sector, it has made ripples in the world of entertainment.

The hoverboard craze has swept across all the sectors with many people striving to own one. Celebrities are not the only people using this kind of scooter as even a number of religious leaders have been spotted using it. Currently hoverboards come in different models which are far much better than the original models. There have been improvements done on it so as to improve its functionalities and comfort levels.

Have you ever wondered how the first hoverboard looked like and the features that it possessed? Probably you are thinking of something big and very difficult to use. The original design and functionality of this board seems to have been derived from the skateboard. The designers aimed at producing a better version of a skateboard that you can enjoy using at any given time. However, they could not be marketed during the earlier years due to the safety concerns that they had.

The first hoverboard finally made it to the market and it had several features of a real hoverboard that had been revealed in various media platforms. It came from Arca Space Corporation in New Mexico and was made in such a way that it could hover any surface including on the water surface. This original model had the capabilities of supporting up to 230Ibs and could fly one foot above the ground. These two features mean that any person regardless of the weight could use it comfortably. The first hoverboard had the installed power of 233,000watts accompanied with 272 horsepower.

The first design also had 36 high power electric duct fans that were responsible for helping one to achieve the flight. These fans could reach a maximum thrust of 430Ibs and being 36 was meant to ensure that there are enough fans remaining whenever a multiple motor failure occurs. This means that you would be able to continue with your flight in case of such unfortunate incidence. Hoverboard safety issues were also well taken care of in the first hoverboard as it had a built in stabilization system which could be controlled by a smartphone. Just like the current ones, the first hoverboard was steered by a human body.

Charging the first hoverboard could take up to six hours but the developers added a number of improvements which shortened the period up to 35 minutes. This is possible if one uses a separate accessory to do so. The board had an endurance period of 6 minutes hence was mostly suitable for short trips. Another feature that the first hoverboard had was that it could navigate to any direction including upwards. The vehicle’s components consisted of composite material and it weighed 180Ibs.
